What’s in the suitcase?

I once read an interview with Ian McEwan, where he said he imagined a man standing at a set of traffic lights with a suitcase. He wondered what was in the suitcase and that spawned a novel.

Your writing prompt: Write a scene with a character and a suitcase. What does the suitcase look like? Is it heavy? Who does it belong to? What’s inside?

  1. Would you like us to read out our efforts on Wednesday night then? !! An interesting challenge and something I am well up for!

But I won’t regale the story of the murder in Basingstoke, with a body in a suitcase found at the station!

    All the best
