Sometimes a picture is enough to spark a story idea. I once attended a workshop, as part of Buddleigh Salterton Literary Festival. We were all given the same image and 30 minutes to write a story, based on that photo. No two stories were alike and mine became a short, I called ‘Peaches’.
Your writing prompt: The image below is one that has always intrigued me. It feels like there’s a story to be told. The title of the painting is Isle of the Dead – good title. Who is the figure in white and will they ever leave the island? Is that a coffin in the boat? Who are the dead? So many questions, but only you can answer them.
